About the Artist

Art has been a love of Cathy Tellefsen’s since she can remember. As a child, she developed her love for painting from her father, who was an art professor for over 30 years.

Cathy earned a B.A. in studio art from Wake Forest University in 1987. For over 2 decades, she has had a successful career in art. After the loss of her daughter in 1999, she became inspired to paint portraits. In 2003, she received a N.C. Arts Council Regional Project Grant to attend the Portrait Society of America’s national convention. Her portraits now hang in over 50 private collections along the east coast.

Capturing the likeness and unique spirit of her subjects, as well as creating a beautiful work of art is the goal of every one of Cathy’s portraits.
